Company Details

CardUp is a platform that facilitates users of credit card holders to make big-ticket payments such as house rent, tuition fees, income tax, etc and get rewarded by earning points. The recipients of the funds don't have to register with the CardUp platform as it uses bank transfers. To offer its service, CardUp needs to develop partnerships with banks and it uses Singapore’s GIRO network, a way for locals to pay for bills, to facilitate the process. The platform uses Cybersource, a VISA credit card processing company, to take in the information, which has bank-level security and SSL encryption. The platform does not store credit card information and uses tokenization on the backend. CardUp takes a percentage from each transaction which is charged on the persons initiating the transactions. The company was selected as one of 20 finalists participating in the Hackcelerator 2016 at Singapore Fintech Festival. The company is an alumnus of UOB's FinLab accelerator program 2016. The company is reportedly has raised a pre-seed round of financing.
