Tracxn may have Your information if You are a:
(i) User of Tracxn (hereinafter referred to as “User”, “You”, “Your”) which shall mean user(s) of the website (www.tracxn.com), the blog contained therein, browser extensions, mobile applications, generated reports (including export downloads and API usage), queries responded to by Our team via email, telephone, or any other medium and any other service features, integrations, tools and resources, allied or additional services including all data contained therein (collectively referred to as “Tracxn”)

What data do we collect and why
- Information Provided by You
- Information for Account Creation - We collect information when You create Your account for Tracxn, which means Your Name, Your professional email, and the geography around which You are primarily interested in using Tracxn.
- Billing & Payment Information - We collect Your billing name, billing address, Tax ID, and the last four digits of the card or UPI ID used.
- Details for Communications - Depending on how You are communicating with us, Your postal address, emails, Your phone number may be with Us.
- Information We collect when You use Tracxn
- Browsing Information - As is typical of most websites, We gather certain information when You use Our Services. This includes but is not limited to information about Your systems, browsers, IP address, referring and exit pages, the pages You visit, operating system, date & time, and clickstream data (“Browsing Information”). Tracxn collects Browsing Information as You Interact with Our website (www.tracxn.com) and its sub-domains, browser extensions, blog, mobile application, APIs and related online services.

PURPOSE OF COLLECTION
We use Your personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide and administer Our services, including creating and managing Your account and delivering the Tracxn platform;
- To process payments and issue invoices, and to maintain records as required under applicable law;

DATA RETENTION AND ERASURE
We retain Your personal data for as long as Your account with Tracxn exist, or as necessary to - fulfil the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, comply with applicable laws, resolve disputes, and enforce Our agreements.
Where Your account is deactivated, suspended, or has been inactive for an extended period, We may retain Your personal data for a certain period to enable seamless reactivation of Your account and continuity of service. SECURITY SAFEGUARDS
Tracxn implements reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect Your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, in accordance with Section 8(5) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Rule 6 of the DPDP Rules, 2025. These safeguards include, without limitation:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest;
- Access controls based on the principle of least privilege;
- Role-based access to restrict data access to authorised personnel only;
- Periodic access reviews to ensure continued appropriateness of access rights;
- Prompt termination of access upon change in role, transfer, or separation of personnel;
- Periodic vulnerability scanning to identify and address potential security risks;
- Backup and recovery practices to ensure data integrity and availability;
- Network security controls including firewalls and related mechanisms; and
- Logging and security monitoring to detect and respond to unusual or unauthorised activity.
Additionally, We maintain organisational measures including confidentiality obligations for personnel, employee training on data protection practices, and appropriate vendor management processes.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of Your personal data.
DISCLOSURE OF DATA PROCESSORS
In the ordinary course of providing Our services, Tracxn may share Your personal data with third-party service providers (“Data Processors”) who process such data on Our behalf and under Our instructions, in accordance with Section 5(1)(b) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The categories of such Data Processors include:
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers - for secure storage and hosting of Tracxn's platform and data;
- Payment processors and payment gateways - for facilitating billing, invoicing, and transaction processing;
- Analytics service providers - for aggregated analysis of platform usage and service improvement;
- Communication and email service providers - for facilitating User communications and notifications;
- Security and fraud prevention providers - for detecting and mitigating unauthorised access or unusual activity.
We engage reputed organizations which are generally compliant with applicable privacy laws.
CROSS-BORDER TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA
In the course of providing Our services, Your personal data may be stored and processed on servers located in India and other jurisdictions through Our cloud infrastructure providers and Data Processors. Under Section 16 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, such transfers are permitted, except to any country or territory as may be notified as restricted by the Central Government of India from time to time.
Where personal data of EEA/UK Data Subjects is transferred outside the European Economic Area, We rely on appropriate safeguards under Chapter V (Articles 44 to 50) including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or such other transfer mechanisms as may be permitted under applicable law.
DATA BREACH NOTIFICATION
We have an Incident Response Team responsible for incident detection, assessment, containment, and recovery. In the event of a personal data breach affecting Your personal data, Tracxn shall, upon becoming aware of such breach, notify the Data Protection Board of India within seventy-two (72) hours in accordance with Rule 7 of the DPDP Rules, 2025, and thereafter notify affected Data Principals without undue delay.
For general incidents, We may notify Users through Our website, blogs, or platform notifications. For incidents specific to an individual User or organization, We will notify the concerned party through the primary email address associated with their account. A complete report may be provided to affected Users on request, within a reasonable timeframe.
Where the breach also constitutes a cybersecurity incident, We shall additionally comply with reporting obligations under the applicable directions issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and any other applicable law.
AI ASSISTANT INTEGRATIONS
Tracxn makes certain information available through third-party artificial intelligence assistants and large language models via integrations such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Where You access Tracxn through such an AI assistant, the following applies:
Information Received
When You submit a query through the AI assistant, Our MCP tool receives Your query text (as entered by You), along with technical metadata necessary to process the request — such as session identifiers, message identifiers, and information about the AI model being used. This metadata is limited to what is required to fulfil Your query and is not used for user profiling.
Information Returned
In response to Your query, Our MCP tool returns publicly available business and company information from Tracxn's database, including company profiles, investor details, funding rounds, acquisitions, IPO information, legal entity details, news events, patents, and sector-level insights.
Query Logging
Queries submitted through the MCP tool may be logged on Our servers for purposes of service delivery, quality assurance, security monitoring, and continuous improvement of Our services.
No External APIs
Our MCP tool operates on Tracxn's proprietary database and does not call any external APIs.
Third-Party Processing
When You access Tracxn through a third-party AI assistant, Your queries and Our responses may be processed and stored by the third-party AI provider (such as OpenAI). Such third-party AI providers act as independent controllers determining their own purposes and means of processing, in accordance with their respective privacy policies. The data shared with such providers is limited to Your query and Our response, processed for the purpose of enabling the AI assistant integration. Such providers may process and store data in various jurisdictions, including outside India, subject to their respective safeguards. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of the AI assistant You are using to understand their data handling practices, including cross-border transfers and retention.
Use of Query Data
Query data may be used for internal quality improvement, analytics, and platform enhancement. We do not use Your query data to train external AI or machine learning models.
Voluntary Disclosure of Personal Data
If You voluntarily include personal data in Your queries submitted through the AI assistant, such personal data will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We recommend not including sensitive personal data in Your queries unless necessary.
CHILDREN'S DATA
Tracxn's services are intended solely for individuals who are not minors i.e for Individuals from India - aged eighteen (18) years or above and for other geographies as per their respective age limits. We do not collect personal data from any individual below the age of eighteen years, in accordance with Section 9 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
CONDITIONS OF USE, NOTICES, AND REVISIONS
