In addition to its primary retail division, they also operate American Wholesale Book Company, a book wholesale and distribution subsidiary; booksamillion.com, an e-commerce division launched in 1998; NetCentral, an internet development service provider acquired in 1999. The company went public in 1992, but in 2015 was acquired by Clyde B. Anderson and family and became private again.
