BAM! (Books-A-Million) is a book retailer that operates a chain of bookstores under the Books & Company and Bookland brand names. As of March 2016, they operate more than 250 stores across the US. In addition to its primary retail division, they also operate American Wholesale Book Company, a book wholesale and distribution subsidiary; booksamillion.com, an e-commerce division launched in 1998; NetCentral, an internet development service provider acquired in 1999. The company went public in 1992, but in 2015 was acquired by Clyde B. Anderson and family and became private again.
