Cogen Microsystems develop organic Rankin Cycle (ORC) technology for applications in solar energy, home heating and hybrid vehicles. On the solar energy front, the system uses evacuated tube collectors to capture thermal energy from the sun. This heat powers an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) heat engine which drives an alternator to produce electricity with the hot water being generated as a by-product.
