The data is then sent to a clinical decision support platform in the Amazon Cloud which analyzes the data in real-time and provides advice and/or alerts to the clinical care staff at the bedside. And, the CDS platform allows for reporting and analysis of the data which can then be added to the electronic healthcare record, be analyzed for population health, used for quality improvement metrics, etc. The near field reader ability also saves them valuable time in having to hand enter patient ID data or bar-code scanning. The near field reader allows a provider to merely swipe their ID, the patient's ID, etc. with their phone or tablet.
