Company Details

Dillard's is a departmental store chain. The chain was founded by William T. Dillard in 1938. As of March 2015, they operate 330 stores across 28 states in the US. The chain went public on the American Stock Exchange in 1969. Their acquisitions consist of the Brown-Dunkin, Blass, Pfeifer and Mayer & Schmidt stores in the 1970s. In the 1980s and 1990s, they acquired numerous local chains such as Lowenstein's, Stix, Baer & Fuller, Diamond's, John A. Brown, Hemphill-Wells, Joske's, Cain-Sloan, Selber Bros, Miller & Paine, etc. Dillard's also operated a store credit card operation, Dillard's National Bank, which was by GE Money Bank in 2004. In 2022, the company recorded annual revenues of $7B and a net profit of $0.89B.
