China has over 135,721 startups, making it the seventh-largest startup hub globally. Of these, 33.5K are funded companies that have collectively raised $1.04T in venture capital and private equity. The country is home to 138 unicorns. A total of 11,492 investors have participated in 31,159 funding rounds, with 5,930 startups securing early-stage funding and 1,730 raising late-stage funding. In the last five years, 7,253 new companies have been founded, raising over $11.2B in funding. Startups in China have witnessed 1,796 acquisitions and 4,963 IPOs, while 25,732 startups wrapped up operations. Additionally, 1,949 companies have been founded by women.
