China has over 138,274 startups, making it the seventh-largest startup hub globally. Of these, 33.6K are funded companies that have collectively raised $1.05T in venture capital and private equity. The country is home to 138 unicorns. A total of 11,649 investors have participated in 31,424 funding rounds, with 5,960 startups securing early-stage funding and 1,745 raising late-stage funding. In the last five years, 8,377 new companies have been founded, raising over $20.5B in funding. Startups in China have witnessed 1,788 acquisitions and 5,087 IPOs, while 25,734 startups wrapped up operations. Additionally, 1,950 companies have been founded by women.
