Startup Landscape in China

China has over 143,101 startups, making it the seventh-largest startup hub globally. Of these, 33.7K are funded companies that have collectively raised $1.06T in venture capital and private equity. The country is home to 136 unicorns. A total of 11,716 investors have participated in 31,578 funding rounds, with 5,989 startups securing early-stage funding and 1,754 raising late-stage funding. In the last five years, 9,247 new companies have been founded, raising over $30.6B in funding. Startups in China have witnessed 1,802 acquisitions and 5,148 IPOs, while 25,740 startups wrapped up operations. Additionally, 1,946 companies have been founded by women.
