India has over 679,305 startups, making it the third-largest startup hub globally. Of these, 34.2K are funded companies that have collectively raised $625B in venture capital and private equity. The country is home to 89 unicorns. A total of 121,387 investors have participated in 50,429 funding rounds, with 3,003 startups securing early-stage funding and 874 raising late-stage funding. In the last five years, 69,915 new companies have been founded, raising over $10.7B in funding. Startups in India have witnessed 5,178 acquisitions and 6,013 IPOs, while 108,828 startups wrapped up operations. Additionally, 23,470 companies have been founded by women.
