Startup Landscape in South Korea

South Korea has over 29,788 startups across the country. Of these, 9.2K are funded companies that have collectively raised $110B in venture capital and private equity. The country is home to 24 unicorns. A total of 2,481 investors have participated in 4,509 funding rounds, with 818 startups securing early-stage funding and 228 raising late-stage funding. In the last five years, 2,047 new companies have been founded, raising over $1.7B in funding. Startups in South Korea have witnessed 639 acquisitions and 2,650 IPOs, while 3,836 startups wrapped up operations. Additionally, 403 companies have been founded by women.
