Company Details
Coin is a connected device that contains all credit, debit, gift, loyalty and membership cards in one place. Instead of carrying all those cards in the wallet user just need to carry the Coin. Coin works anywhere those cards are accepted. The bluetooth-connected Coin features a small integrated black and white e-ink display, a single mode button, a two-year battery, and a magnetic stripe. Its app is used as a means to load new cards (through an accompanying mag-stripe dongle) and manage the cards already stored in Coin. The device uses 128-bit encryption to secure all data stored and transferred, but it also uses Bluetooth as an additional layer of security. Was part of YCombinator. Sold its wearable payments assets to fitbit in May 2016.
