Kickstart Cabs - Company Profile

KickStart is a cab service for people with locomotor disabilities. The fleet includes specially-designed vehicles that have been customized to aid ingress and egress including cars that have a ramp which unfolds from the boot to help users on wheelchairs board the vehicle with ease. Once in, the wheelchair can be securely strapped in using specially designed belts. There are also taxis with turn-out wheelchair where the front passenger seat can be moved out of the passenger's door. The services can be availed by making a booking through the website of the company or over the telephone. The company started with three cars in 2014 and the fleet has grown to nine cars in 2017. The startup is backed by the Mphasis Foundation and as of March 2019, the service is operational only in Bangalore.
