Simbec-Orion Group was created in 2014 by the merger of two CROs - Simbec Research, a specialist CRO in Early Stage Clinical Development and Orion Clinical, a specialist CRO in Late Stage Clinical Development to create an international, full-service CRO. The company after the merger can offer CRO services from Phase I clinical studies to Phase III studies and Phase IV post-marketing studies. They claim to have expertise in all drug types, dosage forms and delivery mechanisms and also in therapeutic areas such as oncology, rare & orphan diseases, respiratory, dermatology and infectious vaccines & diseases. They have an in-house central laboratory known as Seirian Laboratories, that includes bioanalytical, pathological and radioisotope labs. They also offer services w.r.t regulatory affairs and medical writing, pharmacovigilance, data management, statistics and IMP management. Put together, they claim to have conducted studies in more than 30 territories in Western, Central and Eastern Europe and in the Americas and Australasia.
