Sunbirds - Company Profile

Sunbirds develops SB4, a solar-powered unmanned aerial vehicle for large-scale missions. The company claims that the drone has an endurance of over 10 hours. It can be launched using hands and switches to autonomous mode after taking off. If the weather is cloudy, the UAV uses the solar cells and the battery at the same time. But in sunshine conditions, it automatically recharges the battery in-flight. Applications are in the areas of precision mapping, photogrammetry, surveying, surveillance, inspection and remote sensing. The company also provides Belvedere, a proprietary software for flight planning and management. It allows the user to draw a polygon on the map, for automatically generating waypoints based on the GSD (Ground Sampling Distance).
