Startup Landscape in Uganda

Uganda has over 3,654 startups across the country. Of these, 443 are funded companies that have collectively raised $4.27B in venture capital and private equity. A total of 268 investors have participated in 604 funding rounds, with 15 startups securing early-stage funding and 7 raising late-stage funding. In the last five years, 445 new companies have been founded, raising over $10.8M in funding. Startups in Uganda have witnessed 24 acquisitions and 19 IPOs, while 734 startups wrapped up operations. Additionally, 73 companies have been founded by women.
