Telmex is one of the largest fixed-line telecommunication services provider in Mexico. Apart from traditional fixed-line services, it also offers internet access, data, hosted services and IPTV. It also provides other services like network management, telephone and computer equipment sales, cloud services, IT security and interconnection services to other carriers. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of America Movil. America Movil acquired majority stake in Telmex in two transactions (totalling $27.6bn): 60% stake in 2010 for $23bn and 33% stake in 2011 for $4.6bn.
