Company Details

OpenCar's Connect platform gives developers a set of APIs, tools and services to make apps that can work across a variety of vehicles from different automakers. OpenCar has built a free software development kit (SDK), an HTML framework for running apps in a car. Automakers and their integrators can use the OpenCar tools to build profiles that match each vehicle’s visual and functional interface design, hardware controls and voice interaction middleware. Developers can build apps on those profiles, which would then be placed in OpenCar’s online clearinghouse for third-party apps, where automakers will be able to browse for ideas they might include in future vehicles. OpenCar plans to make money by licensing its platform to automakers and by offering professional services to help them build their unique vehicle profiles. It has signed up Mazda as the first automaker to use its OpenCar Connect platform.
